Trip to New York

Finally I am back to Ann Arbor from the "richest city" in the world. Well, it is not as nice as I expected it to be.. I just felt that without working in New York, I will never be able to appreciate it as the financial and business centre of the world..

anyway, just a few snapshots of my 4 days in New York

Statue of Liberty

Well, when we talk about USA, we will think of the Statue of Liberty. In almost all documentaries of USA, you will see the Statue high high above there under the bright sun and blue sky.BUT, the real thing obviously wasn't that good. We missed the last ferry to the Statue of Liberty, then we boarded on the wrong ferry to the island with the highest crime rate- the Staten Island... So we could just see the statue from the ferry. It was under the falling sun, and it was supposed to be very very pretty.. BUT, I felt it just looked like an old auntie holding an icecream cone.. -_-

On the ferry, there was one thing really funny, after passing the statue, we wasnt sure where this ferry was leading to, so we stopped some staff on the ferry and asked "Hey, where will this ferry go?" The person was like "erm.. you dunno where this is going and you are still on this ferry??!!" haha

Broadway

I watched the musical Phantom of the Opera in Broadway one night. It was a very different experience from watching the movie version, listening to the Sarah Brightman version and the London Theatre Orchestra version. The Broadway typr of interpretation is quite desperate.. hehe but I really really love the phantom.. =p

When I was waiting outside the theatre, there was one black dude trying to sell the tix to us. He was speaking Japanese to us (me, Beverley and Moon),cos he thot we were Japenese.. haiz..

WTC ground 0

It has been five years past the Sep 11, the WTC site has been cleared, and the new Tower of Freedom is under construction. Watching the WTC collapsing on TV does not give that kind of feeling. Among all the skyscrapers on Wall Street, there is a huge empty area, you just cannot accept that once, it was the highest building in this world.

It was snowing when we went to the viewing site of the WTC. I was telling Beverley that if I was working in the building beside the WTC, Even I survived the Sep 11, even I was paid a few millions every year, I would quit the job definitely.

Subway

There is nothing more I can say about the subway in New York, it was a smelly, disgusting, dark and dirty place. The trains were shaky and old, and there are mice in the subway, too!! Argh~~~

Weather

The weather in NY is damn hot and humid, I really cannot understand why some people said it was damn cold and windy in NY.. lol

Libraries

A student is fated to go to libraries. When we were walking around downtown of NY, we kept bumped into libraries... In the end Beverley was like.. Erm.. seems we are just students.. haha

Ducks

There wereso man7y pigeons in NY and all of them are fat.. so Beverley was screaming.. OMG, so many ducks!! wahahaha

Actually there are a lot more things happening.. Going to update soon..

=p

People have asked me why my name is so damn bloody hard to pronounce, I would say it's not my problem. Just in case anyone who is interested to find out what the name actually means, here it is:

萱 pronounces as xuan, is the flower called daylily pictured above;

仲 pronounces as zhong, means I am the second child in the family
