In Ann Arbor, as students tried to make sense of the killings and contact friends and family in Blacksburg, Va., many wondered: Could this happen here?

University of Michigan officials said that while campus police could not be completely certain that a similar attack could not happen here, Department of Public Safety officers have been trained to respond to such an incident. University President Mary Sue Coleman sought to reassure students in an e-mail message to campus last night.

"We are all saddened and horrified by today's shooting tragedy at Virginia Tech," she wrote.

Look at this one, on the front page of the Michigan Daily. That's pretty soothing sia? Also in the paper, there is something like "It happened here before in 1981.." hmm well...

Oh yes, one thing made me really speechless: I was sitting beside Mike during LA class, and I was reading the Michigan Daily.. Mike saw the headline which says "32 killed" with a picture of an injured student at VA Tech.. Mike screamed "Oh My God!! Is it here? How come I did not know!!" Then the whole class fainted..

Anyway, I am in a pretty goodmood today, cos it is the last day of school and I finished my EECS!! Wow! Many thanks to Weng Lei gg.. And the GSIs, Shaun, Jon, and Jason, and my partner Jimmy!! and C Ronaldo too! C++ is definitely more bearable with you all..
