fear...

I dun feel secure here at the land of freedom... and I dun believe anyone who watched the Virginia Tech Tragedy could say they think they are perfectly safe in the states...

33 killed and 20++ injured... The gunman is a Chinese student on F1 visa... (rumours not confirmed yet)

That's in a university... One of my classmate went back to his dorm and brought his baseball bat with him, and he claimed the purpose is to defend himself... When I really think about it, studying in the library till late night is in fact very dangerous here... I have seen drunk ppl in the library late at night many times... and I think I forgot that US is a country where ppl can legally own a gun...

Honestly, this is the first time in my life that I feel so insecure.. Even during the SARS period, when the boarding school was closed and we were confined in the boarding, I never felt so... Before coming to US, my brother warned me that US got lot of mad gunmen gg around and shoot people in the school.. my reply to that was "It's not gg to happen in universities like Michigan.." and now, it is happening...

Now I am quite troubled by two things: should I still go to library and study? Exams are coming.. Will I still be able to get a visa to return to US? (unlike the Singaporeans, our visa expires every one yr..)

I think the so-called American Dream has been hindered again, at least for me...

I didn't know he was on his F1 visa. Interesting. I feel the same way about the challenge to security as you do.

Well, there are so many rumours about the gunman's identity.. Though I have been reading things about him being a Chinese student holding F1 visa in many different sources...

People have asked me why my name is so damn bloody hard to pronounce, I would say it's not my problem. Just in case anyone who is interested to find out what the name actually means, here it is:

萱 pronounces as xuan, is the flower called daylily pictured above;

仲 pronounces as zhong, means I am the second child in the family
