California

Well, just a few notes about my trip to California

1) The Union Station Subway platform in LA smells exactly like the MRT station in Dhoby Ghaut...

2) For someone with acrophobia, San Franscisco is some place that he/she should definitely avoid.

Well, I know this is really stupid, but I just cannot resist to share my peiseh story today...

We walked from downtown San Francisco to Chinatown, then to the world famous Lombard street... (That was a few blocks from our hotel) Well, when we walked uphill, it wasn't that bad, cos I can hold on to my friend and not look down at all... However, when we have to go down hill-the elevation of the slope is more than 40 degrees, I could not breathe and my entire body became so rigid that I think I am going to rolling down any second.

Barely after one block, when I saw the steep slope down the hill, I refused to go... What I did was so un-acceptable: I held on to a lamp post and started screaming... In order to get back to the hotel, we need to go down the hill, and that's only two blocks... BUT, I was in such a panic that I cannot even move my body... We ended up taking a cab...

Well, I wish this is the end of the story. In the cab, when the driver heard that I was so scared, he started accelerating down a slope of 40 degrees. I felt like riding a roller coaster and started screaming again... Everyone-except mke, feel so funny and laughed like mad...

Now I know one thing, I can never livein San Francisco--it's never worth it to take a cab whenever you want to go down the two blocks... Argh...

People have asked me why my name is so damn bloody hard to pronounce, I would say it's not my problem. Just in case anyone who is interested to find out what the name actually means, here it is:

萱 pronounces as xuan, is the flower called daylily pictured above;

仲 pronounces as zhong, means I am the second child in the family
