Chicago

I came to Chicago last night to renew my passport today. Well, when someone is suey, he/she will continue to be suey for the entire day. My bad lcuk came at about 4pm in the afternoon yesterday. My flip-flop broke into two pieces.. I guess it's because I am always bear footed in the office and kicking my flip-flops when I am thinking about the programs.

My train leaves at 6pm, so it only gave me one and half hour to get a new pair of flip flops... So, I left my office to search for flip-flops. Just before I left the office, the weather alert sent me an "extreme T storm alert". When I was running back to my office in my new flip-flops, the storm went wild. The wind was so strong that I found it was pretty hard to breathe when you stand against the wind, letting alone running in the wind...

When I finally got back into the office, all my clothes were wet. And it was running late. I ran into the bathroom to change into my RJ PE shirt and PE shorts--that's my sleepwear, I walked(There is no bus there) in the rain to the AMTRAK station. When I finally got on the train, the rain stopped and it became sunny again.. >_<

Then, the storm destroyed the signal system on the way, so the train could only move at a speed of 15 miles per hour--just imagine the delay...

When I reached Chicago at the midnight, I found I made a bad mistake--the hotel I booked is too close to the AMTRAK station. Because it was only three blocks away, so all cab drivers refused to take me cos they say "IF we take you, you will say we rob you..." Walking on the empty street of Chicago at midnight is definitely not a pleasant experience. The crime rate in Chicago is so high that it's hard not to be scared...

Luckily I reached the hotel, checked in, wentto my room, I found that my key was not working... Argh, so I went down, recode the key...

=================

Enough of the bad things, was pretty lucky today.

Got my passport replaced, that only took me less than half an hour. Watched the Kung Fu Panda and got pretty much easy laugh. Went crazy shopping and bought lot of clothes... Hmm I won't say money can buy happiness, but money can purchase clothes and food that can make me happy.. So I want to earn lot of money.. hah

And when I was only half block from the hotel when I walked back, it started to rain. Great, just nice for me to run back and take a shower. =)

I like Chicago!

People have asked me why my name is so damn bloody hard to pronounce, I would say it's not my problem. Just in case anyone who is interested to find out what the name actually means, here it is:

萱 pronounces as xuan, is the flower called daylily pictured above;

仲 pronounces as zhong, means I am the second child in the family
