Sometimes, it is really the so called paperwork that can drain all your energy. I found that I am really fine with all the hard economics paper or writing R code--in fact I should say I had lot of fun testing my code and seeing all the beautiful graphs and etc.

However, I really really hate those paperworks...

Last month, I was in such a hazard applying for my employment paperwork. That came out not so bad, cos I only did the SSN application on my own and the research institute saved me from the piles of forms by taking care of that for me. Then starting this week, I realized one thing--Oouch! my passport is expiring.

The last time I renewed my passport was in 2003 after my O'Levels in Singapore. That only took a few days--I mean the consulate is located on Orchard Road, you can drop there when you are happily shopping after your O'Levels right? (btw, I think it is scary to even think about it that another five year has passed since then.)

But this time, guess what, the nearest consulate is in Chicago, that's about 5 hours drive? 6,7 or even more hours of train? or you can say about 1 and half hour of flight... Therefore, I will have to do everything by mailing.

This was proven a hazard.

Forms, photocopies of documents, originals, passport photos, money order, Fedex...

It turned out to be the case that I had to personally go down to every single to shop to get that minute amount settled...

I was almost mad when I finally had my package shipped to Chicago--not yet started thinking about the application fee, the mail service fee, the FedEx shipping fee and etc...

Mad mad mad...

People have asked me why my name is so damn bloody hard to pronounce, I would say it's not my problem. Just in case anyone who is interested to find out what the name actually means, here it is:

萱 pronounces as xuan, is the flower called daylily pictured above;

仲 pronounces as zhong, means I am the second child in the family
